TROCAIRE: Extract of letter recently received re. Lenten Collection

‘Dear Fr McCaughan,

I am writing to acknowledge the generous donation of £2200.96 sent to Trocaire on behalf of the parishioners of Lisburn Parish. This contribution will help to make a life-changing difference for families throughout the developing world, helping them to improve their lives, meet their basic needs and receive the basic human dignity and rights. Please convey our sincere thanks to your parishioners for their thoughtful generosity.

Trocaire works with partners in Syria, Iraq, South Sudan and Somalia, which are burdened by protracted conflicts and in Jordan and Lebanon, countires which are hosting 1.75 million Syrian refugees. We are helping to bring vital aid such as food, water, shelter and medical supplies to people who have lost everything. But continue to hope that peace will come.

Yours sincerely,
Caoimhe de Barra’
